Carling Big Band

Carling Big Band, with Gunhild Carling as leader, started with the yearly Christmas Variety show at Lund City Theater. Carling Big Band is a combination of Carling Family and Maritime Stompers from Malmo. They play jazz in the style of Fletcher Henderson, Duke Ellington, Louis Russel, Chick Webb and Jean Goldette. The arrangements consist of partly old records and partly completely new material composed by Gunhild and Hans Carling and Erik Berndalen.
	Carling Big Band has performed at Berwald Hall, Stockholm, Gothenburg Concert Hall, Malmo Concert Hall, Bangen Jazz Festival, Riverboat Jazz Festival, Silkeborg, and Jazz im Boxring, Dresden Jazz Festival, and Tivoli Concert Hall, Copenhagen. Carling Big Band often perform with the excellent dance troup Harlem Hot Shots, who perform Lindy Hop, Charlestone and other dances from the 20s, 30s and 40s.
